I have made my version of Quarkbällchen. This is a traditional German fried cheese snack usually in ball shape similar to churros. It is great for this time of year with the cold crisp air and having the sweet vanilla and cinnamon aroma filling up the house.

Ingredients:

250 g Quark
100 g Sugar
1 Tbsp Wellness Lab Velvet Vanilla
2 Eggs
250 g Plain Flour
7 g Baking Powder
A pinch of salt

Vegan version:
50g Vegan Margarine (melted)
20 ml Soya milk
2 Tbsp Oil
250g Plain Flour
1 Tbsp Wellness Lab Velvet Vanilla
100 g Sugar
7g Baking Powder
A pinch of salt

*Incorporate all the ingredients and then follow the method from pouring batter into piping bag*

Cook in:
1 Ltr Vegetable Oil (depending on the size of your pan)

Coat with:
2 Tsp Cinnamon
5 Tbsp Sugar

Method:
In a large bowl, combine the quark, sugar, vanilla and eggs. In another bowl combine the flour, salt and baking powder.

Then add 1/3 of the flour mixture into the quark batter and mix well. Repeat until all the flour is combined.

In a separate bowl mix together sugar and cinnamon and set aside. This is to coat the dough later.

Pour the dough batter into a piping bag with a nozzle (mine was Wilton1M).

I then cut out square parchment paper and piped the batter into a circle.

Heat the oil in the pan or if you have one use a deep fryer. To test when the oil is ready, drop a bit of batter into the oil. If the batter starts to bubble and float, it is ready.

Drop in the piped parchment batter ring with parchment paper facing up. When the dough starts to turn golden, you can carefully peel the parchment paper off and flip the dough to cook the other side. Cook for roughly 3 minutes each side. Place the cooked dough on to a rack or kitchen paper to soak up excess oil before coating in the sugar and cinnamon mixture.

You can enjoy it with a nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate.
