Wellness Lab offers a new vegan Vitamin C product to go with the Marine Collagen. As Vitamin C plays a key role in maintaining our skin production

of collagen and for hyaluronic acid synthesis. It can boost the production of collagen in our body. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in our body,

but it decreases as we age. Wellness Lab offers Vitamin C as a separate product.

Are Marine Collagen supplements safe?

For the general user, taking approx 10g per day which is well below the safety limits, it is regarded as safe way to increase protein intake.

If you are pregnant or suffer from any medical condition, you should consult a GP before taking any food supplements.

Is Marine Collagen better than bovine?

Can Marine Collagen be absorbed through the skin?

There's not enough data to support whether it's absorbed by the skin. Topical collagen is mainly used by the beauty industry. Oral consumption 

is however well documented and evidence based. 

How is Marine Collagen made?

It's extracted from fish skins which is a byproduct and mostly discarded during processing. The proteins are denatured to form gelatin then

broken down into smaller fragments and combined into products in the form of powders, gummies, capsules and protein bars.

Not all collagens are equal and they will vary in density and absorbability. 

How much Marine Collagen per day?
We recommend 10g per day to our customers. Other retailers may recommend anything up to 15g. 10g would equal approx a teaspoon.

When to take Marine Collagen?
If you're religious about it, take it on an empty stomach 30 mins before food. Most of our customers will however blend it in their morning coffee,

smoothies or sprinkle it over youghurts. They get great results too!

You can easily add our marine collagen to your baking, for example into your pancake batter, add a1-2 heaped teaspoons of Wellness Lab marine collagen. 

Likewise can you add marine collagen to any cake batter, cupcakes etc.
